CyndiMember
I would find out WHY the dog is barking to start with. Most dogs, I would imagine, don’t bark for no reason. Get to the bottom of the why, and then go from there.
CyndiMemberWell said Shawna!! As usual! π
CyndiMemberI wish your vet was closer to me. I can’t find a good vet that agrees with raw feeding. Except the quack I saw a couple years ago, but I ain’t going back to her, lol!
CyndiMemberLol! Thanks. Not really back, just had to throw in my 2 cents. Too much drama on this site anymore for me to deal with on a daily basis, but I do lurk around every so often to see what’s up. π
CyndiMemberYes, thanks for your input, even though it’s wrong. A balanced raw diet is the best you can feed your dog, and I will continue to do so and NOT listen to my vet because most of them don’t know a damn thing about nutrition.
CyndiMemberTo use DE indoors, you can sprinkle it on anything and everything. Put it all over your carpet, let it works its way down into the fibers. Wood floors, work it down into cracks and crevaces (sp?) and don’t forget the dogs bedding. You can also put it directly on the dog but be careful you don’t breathe it in, it can hurt your lungs. It is completely safe to use, except for breathing in the “cloud” from it, it’s got the consistency of flour. The way it works is the DE is microscopic pieces of shells or something and it punctures the exoskeleton of the flea and then the flea will dehydrate and die or something like that.
Good luck! π
CyndiMemberHa ha! Thanks! I’ll hold off on the goat wrestling! Lol!
CyndiMemberAwww, thanks Dori!! I hope the same for you! Merry Christmas!! π
CyndiMemberAwww, thanks Nut! I missed you too! π I’ll try to make a point of coming on here more regularly! After I had my surgery, I had to ease back into sitting at the computer, but only really went on facebook here and there. I kind of just forgot about DFA in a way because I could only be on the computer for like 10 minutes at a time. But, now that everything has been back to normal, I do need to get back on here more regularly and keep up with all the goings on and stuff!
Merry Christmas everyone!! π

CyndiMemberI don’t come on here much anymore, but wanted to wish EVERYONE a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a very Happy New Year!!! π
CyndiMemberEven though I already told you, I wanna say it again, Congratulations!!! Very happy for you and you totally deserve it and will make an awesome vet someday! π
CyndiMemberLavender scented Gain laundry detergent! Ha ha! No food items yet, that I know of.
CyndiMemberMarie, I’m so sorry you’re still having problems with Gemma. I was going to email you the other day & ask how she was doing, but I got distracted by something (as usual). I swear I have ADD when I’m online, lol!
I know you probably have tried it, but I’ll mention it anyways, but, have you tried canned pumpkin or that perfect form stuff for Gemma? I may have missed where you said if you’d tried them or not…
November 2, 2014 at 7:58 pm in reply to: Something entirely unrelated to dog food. #56197 Report AbuseCyndiMemberWow! Well said Marie! & BCnut, well said too!! I always have trouble with putting into words what I want to say, but you basically said what I was thinking.
I hope your parents see that you’re happy and just accept every thing. Marie is right, life is too short!
CyndiMemberHere are a couple articles for you: One article says feed the whole egg, shell and all, the other says not to feed the shell. Personally, I feed the shell and all. I give my dog a fresh, cage free chicken or duck eggs a couple times a week and that’s all…

October 30, 2014 at 11:44 am in reply to: Something entirely unrelated to dog food. #56007 Report AbuseCyndiMemberNaturella, I totally agree with Akari! As long as he treats you right and you are both happy, that is all that matters. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers that everything goes ok with your mom. Good luck!
Your mom needs to come here someday and look around. Age is just a number, and love is colorblind. It’s becoming so normal any more for interracial couples, it’s not even a big deal anymore. Not that I think it ever should have been, but, you know what I mean.
So happy for you that you’re happy and praying your mom comes around and welcomes your man to the family with open arms. π
CyndiMemberHa ha Marie! I never thought of that, lol! Maybe I’ll get Bailey’s teeth removed, lol! (totally kidding!)
CyndiMemberYeah, I thought about that Marie. I wouldn’t have gotten my doberman vaccinated for rabies, but I think I better do Bailey. She is definitely funny around some people, so I wouldn’t put it past her someday. *Sigh* She can sure be a bitch when she wants to be, lol!
October 29, 2014 at 7:53 pm in reply to: what do i add to steak to make a complete dog food ? #55942 Report AbuseCyndiMemberEveryone else has helped you with your questions, but I want to know where you work! I may have to get a job there, lol!!
October 29, 2014 at 11:16 am in reply to: Rabies titer test results in soo upset #55894 Report AbuseCyndiMemberCrap!!! Disregard my last post (sorry, too late to edit it). π I’m just reading now that Ohio state lawmakers are passing or just passed a bill making rabies vaccines mandatory in the state of Ohio. π Oh well. My excitement was short lived. Damn!
October 29, 2014 at 11:03 am in reply to: Rabies titer test results in soo upset #55892 Report AbuseCyndiMemberOMG!!! I am so f’n excited!! There is NO law in my state that says you have to have get a rabies vaccine. I never knew that! All those years vaccinating my doberman and he didn’t need it? Here is one of the articles I just read:
“Rabies vaccinations
Ohio law does not require rabies vaccination of dogs unless they have bitten someone and no proof of rabies vaccination is available. Dog bites are reported to the health department, and the dog is placed under quarantine for 10 days. Following the quarantine period, the dog owner must show proof of rabies vaccination.
Health departments in each county can require that dogs be vaccinated against rabies. In October, the Hamilton County Board of Health adopted a resolution that requires rabies vaccination for all dogs and cats more than three months old. The animal must be given a booster vaccination one year later, but subsequent boosters can be up to three years later.
Veterinarians are required to provide rabies tags to the animal owner and to keep records of rabies vaccinations that can be made available to the health commissioner on request. Dog and cat owners are also required to provide a copy of a rabies vaccination certificate to the health department upon request.
If a pet bites a person or another animal and is suspected of being rabid, the health commissioner can allow the owner to keep his pet in strict quarantine for a minimum of six months. If the animal dies during the quarantine, the head must be made available for rabies testing. If the animal does not show signs of rabies, it must be vaccinate at least a month before the end of the quarantine.
Animals must wear their tags; those that are found off their owner’s property without a tag can be impounded.”
I am so happy I could cry! NO MORE SHOTS FOR BAILEY!!! EVER!! Yay!

CyndiMemberHa ha!! That is too cute!!
CyndiMemberAwww, Marie, that’s actually cute! I bet Ginger loves it! Lol! One of the cats I used to have used to clean my doberman’s ears. Moose used to lay his head down right next to the cat and my cat would lick his ears for hours, lol!
CyndiMemberThanks Dori! I’ll mention that to my friend next time I see him. He said he went over to his brother’s house on Sunday and had to leave sooner than he wanted cuz the dog would not stop licking him, lol!
CyndiMemberDo you mix the dry and the canned? That might help, and add some water to it so it really mixes up. Does he have any problems eating just the canned? You could try that for a while. Canned food is better for them anyways. Good luck! π
CyndiMemberI thought it might be the submissive thing, but didn’t realize the others. & I’m sure it’s different with each dog that does it. Oh well, just glad it’s not mine that does it, lol! Thanks Nut!! π
CyndiMemberWOW!! That’s an awesome deal! Good for you…..and your pups!
CyndiMemberGood info Akari. Figures you’d know that, lol! I just posted it for others to use. π
October 26, 2014 at 8:27 pm in reply to: New advice NOW on how to feed a starved puppy. #55702 Report AbuseCyndiMemberSure! π I almost email you all the time. My sister’s name is Patty, and when I send her an email, I just have to type the “P” and both your names come up, but yours is first and I always want to click yours by accident, cuz it’s the first one, lol!
October 26, 2014 at 8:06 pm in reply to: New advice NOW on how to feed a starved puppy. #55699 Report AbuseCyndiMemberOh ok, gotcha! I thought maybe you meant that you were too computer illiterate to do it, lol! Cuz I know damn well I am the most computer illiterate person that I know.
October 26, 2014 at 7:31 pm in reply to: New advice NOW on how to feed a starved puppy. #55693 Report AbuseCyndiMemberOr, if you know how, you can upload it to a photo site like photobucket. That’s what I use. Then just post the direct link and your pic will appear. If I can learn how to do that nut, anyone can. π

October 26, 2014 at 2:57 pm in reply to: New advice NOW on how to feed a starved puppy. #55673 Report AbuseCyndiMemberSounds like that pup is in good hands. Feel free to post a picture of him whenever you want. π We love pics, especially puppy pics! π
October 26, 2014 at 2:36 pm in reply to: New advice NOW on how to feed a starved puppy. #55670 Report AbuseCyndiMemberToo late to edit, lol! But I meant *….gets better soon!* Ha ha!
Dogfoodie, it’s very sad that that happens so much in todays world. Makes me sick.
October 26, 2014 at 2:12 pm in reply to: New advice NOW on how to feed a starved puppy. #55668 Report AbuseCyndiMemberGlad to see BCnut gave you some great advice. Did you contact that Great Dane breeder to see if they had lost any pups. I have a feeling you might be right that maybe they intentionally “lost” him because of problems. π How anyone could do that is beyond me.
Good luck with him. I hope it’s only something temporary and he gets betters.
Awesome about your mom. Good for her!! π
October 25, 2014 at 7:06 pm in reply to: Something entirely unrelated to dog food. #55609 Report AbuseCyndiMemberAwwww, poor little guy! I’m so sorry nut! I miss my ferrets I had so much. I thought about getting a couple more. They were the funnest little pets I have ever had.
I’m curious how old your ferret was too. I’ve heard they only live about 7 years or so?
Dori, B*r*o*t*h*e*r*s! LOL!

October 25, 2014 at 5:41 pm in reply to: New advice NOW on how to feed a starved puppy. #55594 Report AbuseCyndiMemberHopefully HDM will come and comment. She would be the most knowledgable one on here to respond to this. Also, BCnut is another one. I will send them a link to this thread and hopefully one or both will come and give you some help.
Thank you for rescuing that poor baby! So glad he’s in good hands now!
CyndiMemberAkari, love seeing pics of Ginger. She’s adorable.
Dori, Sorry Hannah’s not feeling well, but so happy she’s doing well otherwise. Hopefully she’ll get that infection cleared up and she’ll be her happy self always. π
October 24, 2014 at 8:14 pm in reply to: Something entirely unrelated to dog food. #55526 Report AbuseCyndiMemberAwww, they are both too cute!! LOL! I love chickens. My friend Anne has them, only like 20 of them though because a fox keeps taking them, but they are adorable. She is who I get my fresh eggs from. I don’t think she has any Frizzies or Fraggles or anything like that. Lol!
October 24, 2014 at 8:11 pm in reply to: Something entirely unrelated to dog food. #55525 Report AbuseCyndiMemberOh My gosh!!! That is way too funny! I was just reminded of fraggles when you said frizzie or whatever it was. That is so funny that there are actual fraggle chickens. I’m gonna go google them now, both of them. LOL!!
October 24, 2014 at 7:43 pm in reply to: Something entirely unrelated to dog food. #55521 Report AbuseCyndiMemberWelcome back Dog Obsessed.
Thanks Bobby dog! π
No nut, these are Fraggles. (see below) LOL! They are from Fraggle Rock. A tv show from a while back. Sorry, I was just trying to be funny. I failed, lol!

October 24, 2014 at 2:22 pm in reply to: Something entirely unrelated to dog food. #55493 Report AbuseCyndiMemberOk nut, I have to ask, although I should just google it like you taught me, What the heck is a Frizzle?? Anything like a Fraggle?? Lmao!!
October 24, 2014 at 2:20 pm in reply to: Something entirely unrelated to dog food. #55490 Report AbuseCyndiMemberTotally unrelated to chickens, I wanted to share a pic of my Bailey’s new collar, for those of you who aren’t my facebook friends and haven’t seen it.
http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u182/Sidney0805/2014-10-24_13-11-01_927.jpg
Why does it have to look so smooshed? Lol! You can click on the pic and it looks better…

CyndiMemberWellness Dog or Cat food coupon. Any size!
http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/cat/index.aspx?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Display&utm_campaign=FB_Sponsored&utm_content=CatCoupon_1200x628October 24, 2014 at 10:22 am in reply to: What special things did you give or do on your dogs birthday?? #55477 Report AbuseCyndiMemberThis was my Moose on his first birthday. My son and I had a party for him. He opened all his presents. He loved his hat too! π
http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u182/Sidney0805/moosew_bdayhat.jpg
I don’t really do anything except buy and wrap presents for Bailey. She’s not real good at opening presents, though.
October 22, 2014 at 11:54 am in reply to: Pure Balance GF Bison and Pea Dogs not eating. #55341 Report AbuseCyndiMemberThat word is also a brand of food and because of ongoing debate and drama about it, it is not allowed to be typed, lol! I can imagine you thought you were going nuts, lol! Dr. Mike, who runs this site, must have it so anytime that word is used, it gets eliminated.
Don’t worry, we know you weren’t using a bad word, lol!
CyndiMemberLooks ok to me. My dog would like those, I know that, lol! I have also used ground turkey, mixed with an egg and cooked for treats. The raw would be fine too, I just wouldn’t use that many of them in a day or you’ll end up with a meatball for a dog, lol!
October 21, 2014 at 7:47 am in reply to: How much a week do you spend on homemade dog food? #55266 Report AbuseCyndiMember3lbs. a day seems like an awful lot of food to me. My 50lb girl eats about about a pound and a half a day. The rule is 2-3% of their ideal body weight. 2% for less active dogs and 3% for more active dogs.
Hildie, is your dog very active?
Martha, I think you are doing fine with 2 pounds. Keep an eye on your dogs waistline and adjust accordingly.
CyndiMemberVery good to know. I’ll have to try that with the rest of it. Thanks! π
CyndiMemberI FINALLY dehydrated (in my oven) a little bit of the deer liver I had gotten from a friend of mine. My Bailey is funny, she will eat chicken livers raw, no problem, but any other kind of liver she will not eat. So, before I dehydrated some of the deer liver, I gave her a little slice and she wouldn’t eat it. Damn mutt! So, I sliced off about 20 little slices and cooked them in the oven on low for a few hours and she LOVES it. It didn’t even smell all that bad while cooking, but it sure was gross slicing it up, lol! Next weekend I’ll do the rest and I’ll probably have enough treats to last a month. Yay for free liver treats! π
CyndiMemberThanks Nut! I found that Chewy carries them! I’m gonna order one next time I place an order. Hopefully they’ll still be on sale like they are now.
