I meant heat not heart…
Lori RMemberHi!
It sounds like your dogs are healthy. I think you need to not put so much weight on the feeding guidelines. Animals (dogs cats horses) will only eat what they need most of the time. It would probably be better to cut back the amount of food to the amount they are consuming right now. As long as they are maintaining weight they are absolutely fine. Keep an eye on them and if their weight drops add a small amount at a time (1/8 to 1/4 cup) until their weight goes back to where you want it and they are cleaning up their food. Their appetites will change with activity, weather, etc. My dog (mini aussie) has decreased his intake due to the heart. Hope this helps….June 24, 2015 at 11:23 pm in reply to: chi-poo stomach or bowel very loud gurlging #74844 Report AbuseLori RMemberHi there!
Whenever our italian Greyhound has the gurgles (that’s what we have nicknamed it) we give a dose of probiotic and watch to make sure she is still drinking. I don’t like for them to not drink for more than half a day or so. Check her gums to make sure they aren’t really pale (if they are call your vet). I don’t worry too much unless they quit drinking. Usually they have just gotten into something that has to work through they’re system. -
