It’s likely your bulldog has some sort of skin issue, or will, so I recommend Green Tripe wet food. It’s incredibly full of omega 3s that tasty (for dogs). Some foods like First Mate’s Chicken & Blueberry formula has blueberries and raspberries that really help with tear stains. I’ve heard several customers report huge clear ups after this food. It’s also grain-free and single source protein/carb.

This site was really detailed and helpful for calculating phosphorus levels, which contributes to kidney problems, while also asserting that high protein is GOOD for a senior dog, as many on this site have also said: http://raingoddess.com/dogfood/phos.html

Unfortunately, the brands listed with low phosphorous also have low protein and are considered by many to be sub-standard foods. I hope one of the experts on this site can give a good rundown on how to feed your senior dog well but also keep their special needs in mind.

For big bags, Pioneer is in the low 40’s, and GF Diamond is in the late 30’s. Ya can’t really beat them.

Raw food might be much more “real” tasting and satisfying to them, plus, nothing’s better! I don’t blame them being picky about dry food, even the best ingredients turned into a kibble can’t be nearly as awesome as a hunk of meat.

    Thanks!

Also First Mate and Petcurean foods, I’m pretty sure.
