Thanks so much Gina for writing me. Nemo doesnt eat any fatty foods..see when we got him, we were told that he is genetically prone to being obese, with Nemo, if you put an entire can of wet food in front of him he would eat the whole thing. He’s not a dog that you can leave food in the bowl and he will get it when its time to eat, he will just eat it all right there..the Wet food that he is on is ID, its for dogs with sensitive stomachs so that is what he eats..he used to be able to eat a while back a tiny piece of steak or a small amount of bread but no more, he will have nothing but wet food from now on, no dry food, maybe the dry food irritates his stomach not sure, he would be on it for three weeks(A mix of dry and wet food) and then the problem would start again so we just leave him on wet food, as long as he feels good and is hungry throughout the day and feeling good that is what matters. We also take him for a walk everyday(Today we couldnt were too busy) but the Vet said that walking is good for the body and good for the pancreas so we have been doing that everyday, he poops normally, just want him to be healthy and happy and eat his food everyday so his pancreas can heal and he can go back to eating what he used to(Three times per day)

Im sorry hearing stories like that breaks my heart 🙁
With Nemo he has had thyroid issues for years, we never even knew it til he had a blood test done, never showed any symptoms it was just a routine blood test and it showed it so he has been taking pills for years and every 3 months he goes in for a blood test to see if its normal..I just hope his pancreas can fully recover..we dont know what caused the original problem over a month ago, he would wake up in the morning not wanting to eat, he would either get a Flagyl or a Pepsid and he would eventually eat..so that is why the Vet suggested a Probiotic which did not work on him..I read all these different things online that can help dogs with their digestion, etc, unfortunately for Nemo, 99 percent of what works just fine and dandy with other dogs doesnt work for him, it makes him sick

On Friday when Nemo didnt want to eat, it was weird because in the morning he ate just fine, he pooped fine, but three hours later when it was time to eat again, he didnt want to, but he kept going to the door so he went outside and pooped again..so it made me think that we are overfeeding him because Ive never heard of a dog pooping twice in a span of three hours something isnt right..today he is fine, he gets a tablespoon and a half of his wet food and knock on wood so far so good..
Yes he has gotten his work up, he takes Thyroid meds so he goes in every three months to get everything checked out..but he hadnt gotten a pancreatitis test in a while, so Im thinking maybe for the past two months he had pancreatitis that is why sometimes he would wake up not wanting to eat, but then it went away as soon as he got a Flagyl, or a cerenia, that maybe the pancreatitis just lingered, wasnt bad just a little flare up, but once he had that probiotic everything just exploded..I just hope that eventually little by little his pancreas will bounce back and he can eat normally like he used to..He takes Cerenia, Pepsid for his GERD, and his Thyroid pill for his thyroid problem..I read that dogs with thyroid issues are more prone to pancreatitis is that true?
