If you aren’t worry about budget, go with Orijen or Wellness Core. We choose a cheaper route with Fromm Gold Large Breed Puppy Dry Dog Food and we like it.

What type of dog is it? I know it depends on the breed. I am currently using Salmon Oil for our 4 month old Bullmastiff and I also give it to our adult dog. I just figured since fish oil is good for humans, probably good for dogs too. The claims on the product seem great also and include helping keep their coat nice, heart health, etc. But, I would be curious to know if it has an actual benefit or is just wasteful.
Also, I was going to put my puppy on a puppy vitamin but since she is large breed, I read a lot of articles against it. For the simple reason that if a puppy gets too many vitamins and supplements, could be bad for them long term. I don’t want to risk that.
I would say the most important thing to consider is that if your puppy is on a high quality food, they shouldn’t need additional supplements.

Does anyone know if the list has been created yet or still in the making? I’m very excited and anxious to see what is recommended because right now, I just feed a wide assortment of treats to include bully sticks, rib bones, hooves, pig ears, edible nylabones, kongs with peanut butter, etc. Would love to know what is recommended for STRONG chewers.
When considering treats we look for a couple things:
    1. treats that are safe to give the dogs unsupervised while we are working.
    2. treats that will last a while
    3. reasonable treats (that is why i am staying away from the himalayan chews, can’t believe how expensive they are!)
    4. treats that don’t give stinky breath!! (this is a big one and haven’t found many that fill this need!)

My great dane-shepherd mix has the SAME problem with having occasional yeast in his ears and having red itchy ears. I’ve taken him to the vet a couple times and they just dismiss the issue as not being serious. However, I hate the thought that my buddy might be uncomfortable and have itchy ears. I was recently told at a small boutique dog store to try no potatoes in addition to grain free. So, I am trying Earthborn GF Great Plains. He hasn’t been on it long enough to see results but I am really hoping for the best. The one thing I’m worried about, is that the Earthborn foods are vegetable based foods and not meat based. I’m thinking I should have him on a meat based food. Any ideas or recommedations?
    Thanks!
