cindy qParticipant
I’m still not sure if this is balanced or if I should be adding something to the food?
cindy qParticipantNancy, I have a standard poodle that just turned 1 and a toy poodle that is 9 years old. Neither one had a problem switching cold turkey to BDN.
cindy qParticipantThanks!
cindy qParticipantWhat age are you considering a puppy? I have a standard poodle who just turned a year old.
cindy qParticipantBCnut, what food do you feed?
cindy qParticipantNancy do you only feed BDN? My dogs also went cold turkey with no problem.
cindy qParticipantThanks everyone! I wish I could find something my dogs love as much as BDN.
cindy qParticipantWhat happened with the review of BDN?
cindy qParticipantI agree Martha, they seem like a great company and it is the only food my dogs seem to love. What frozen raw do you feed?
cindy qParticipantthanks Dori!
cindy qParticipantthose that use BDN do you feel it is nutritionally complete or do you think it needs a supplement added to it?
cindy qParticipantKristin what supplement do you add?
cindy qParticipantKristin how is BDN pricing compared to Sojo’s?
cindy qParticipantIt stays chunky, I was told by them that you don’t even have to add water if your dog is drinking enough water(I do add water, but not the amount they say to add) it looks like ground beef, thats the consistency it has. My dogs didn’t like Honest Kitchen, I think they didnt like how it was mushy. BDN is not like that at all. BDN is air dried, I’m not sure if that is the same as dehydrated?
cindy qParticipantDori, I have 2 very picky eaters so I have been feeding all different foods trying to find something they will eat. We have tried Blue Buffalo, Merrick, Orijen,Primal, Fresh pet, honest kitchen, Now Fresh, Go! The only ones they seemed to like somewhat were Primal, Now Fresh & Go! They love BDN, they eat it right away and lick their bowls clean they have never done this before. I was always wasting food before throwing away what they didn’t eat. For me don’t you think it would make sense to stick with what they will eat?
cindy qParticipantI didn’t know if they would answer on a Sundsy.
cindy qParticipantYou can also e-mail them, I have at all different times
and they are quick to respond.cindy qParticipantThe intro offer worked for me and I just ordered a week ago.
cindy qParticipantThanks Kristin, I just tried Big Dog Natural freeze dried after someone on this board recommended it and my dogs love it! I have a Standard Poodle and a toy poodle they both absolutely love it. My toy will sit and cry while she is waiting for me to mix it. I e-mailed the company with questions before I ordered and they responded within 10 minutes of me e-mailing them each time. I e-mail Darwins with questions and they responded 3 days later.
cindy qParticipantReceived my order of Big Dog Natural today and my picky eater loved it! She licked her bowl clean.
cindy qParticipantBig Dog Natural
cindy qParticipantNancy, I just placed a order with Big dog natural. They answered my e-mails right away. They said it would cost about $48.00 to feed my standard poodle. I was paying much more than this. I couldn’t find a review for it on this site, I guess it hasn’t been reviewed. Thanks for all your info! Hoping my picky girl likes it. Cindy
cindy qParticipantThanks Nancy! Any idea of what it would cost to feed a Standard Poodle who is about 38 lbs.
cindy qParticipantThanks Danielle!
cindy qParticipantThankd so much for sharing Barbara.
cindy qParticipantBarbara, my dogs (standard poodle 10 mos. & toy poodle 9 years) love grrek yogurt & cottage cheese I only feed them a little bit the standard about a tablespoon and the toy about a teaspoon a few times a week. Is this something they can have everyday?
cindy qParticipantThanks so much for all the info Barbara O! can I ask what kibble you mix primal with?
cindy qParticipantZach, I couldn’t find any frozen primal on Wag.com only freeze dried? Also does anyone know if its ok to mix raw (primal) with kibble? Someone who sells raw gave me paper work on raw and it said not to mix raw and kibble because they digest them differently.
cindy qParticipantZach M. Where did you order online?
cindy qParticipantSo is Primal frozen cheaper than freeze dried? I just started using primal and I bought the frezze dried thinking it would be cheaper and also because I can’t find the frozen near me. I can order it online, but I was afraid of it thawing since I work all day.
July 29, 2014 at 8:05 pm in reply to: Looking for best dry food for tiny breed puppy #48097 Report Abusecindy qParticipantNow fresh has a small breed kibble & its on the editors choice list.
cindy qParticipantMy dogs love banana’s.
cindy qParticipantI use Orijen regional red.
cindy qParticipantIs there any canned tripe that dosen’t contain carrageenan? Solid Gold and Tripett both have.
cindy qParticipantThanks everyone!
cindy qParticipantThe honest kitchen is dehydrated, but its not raw. Marie my standard poodle is very picky but she just started eating Orijen and she finishes all of it.
cindy qParticipantThanks theBCnut! I feed the orijen with fish oil in the morning and then they get a little pumpkin at night they get go and a few times a week I give them a little yogurt. After reading what you feed I feel like I might not be doing enough.
cindy qParticipanttheBCnut what supplements do you use?
cindy qParticipantI never used it but I see that you use go fit, is that the canned? How do you like it? I was going to try this.
cindy qParticipantI feel so much better now feeding this to my toy, I wanted something that my 8 mos old Standard Poodle and my 8 year old toy could both eat. They both love this food. When I was feeding Merrick neither of them were that interested in it and my Standard was very gassy, she doesn’t have that problem on Orijen. I am trying to find a canned food that they will both eat also, one that is just as good as Orijen. I am going to try Go fit & free, does anyone use that or have a opinion on it?
cindy qParticipantThanks Robert, my toy is 8 years old and more of a couch potatoe now thats why I was told it was too much protein for her.
cindy qParticipantAny one know if Orijen has had any recalls?
cindy qParticipantI was feeding Merrick, but I switched to Orijen because my dog didn’t really like Merrick. I do still have some cans of Merrick. I wasn’t aware of this.
cindy qParticipantOh, I see. I saw the other post first. I saw the video you posted, thats scary!
cindy qParticipantTina I am suprised you are using wellness, I thought you found bone in it?
cindy qParticipantThe Regional Red is what I am feeding.
cindy qParticipantAmy A, I tried topping with canned and she dosen’t like canned. I thought most dogs love canned, but not mine.
cindy qParticipantI have a 8 mos old standard poodle who is not a big eater, I am switching her from Merrick grain free dry to Orijen and she seems to really like the Orijen she is picking that out of her bowl and letting the Merrick there.
cindy qParticipantI am switching my 8 mos old standard poodle from Merrick to Orijen, she is really liking the Orijen she picks that out and leaves the Merrick in her bowl.
cindy qParticipantI purchased from both wag.com and chewy.com. I purchased Honest Kitchen from wag.com and my dog wouldn’t eat it, wag.com paid the shipping to send it back and refunded my money. One of the cans of Merrick that was in a case of 12 opened and spilled out, they sent me a whole new case plus gave me a $15.00 credit for my trouble. They have great customer service.
