AnnaMaet great food but I have to order it. I have even called the company and was able to talk about the different food. One of mine has to have a low fat so I started her on AnnaMaet Lean and I have been so happy with this food. Take a look and if you want give them a call they will answer your questions.

Are you sure you need that much fat in a diet? Ditto on the protein. I agree that a good Senior food is the way to go. It’s a fact that too much protein is as bad as not enough and we all know that too much fat isn’t good. I have a dog that has had stomach problems all of her life. I feed her Annamaet lean and am finally off of RX food. Orijen Senior is a great food too. This is of course my opinion and I hope you find the right mix for your pup. 🙂

I use chicken. I buy chicken filets frozen from Costco. I take one out boil it and use that just for training treats works great.

You can also try Wild Calling not to be confused with the other. They have a great selection and I started my 8 week old on it and my 2yr old. They have White Fish, White Fish Elk Salmon, Turkey, Beef etc. Those are just 5 of them and you can rotate without any fear of loose stools. Right now before Jan 1, 2015 go to their site grab a coupon buy one get one free (4.5 lb) that way you can try a couple of different ones and if the pup doesn’t like them (which I doubt) the store should take them back. Gee I sound like an ad..lol

My big complaint about Blue was my pups stools were always soft to the point of no form. I checked with my vet and that’s when she advised me to change to a different food. When I found Wild Calling my dogs are doing so good on it and their weight is always right on the mark.

When I got my little “thow away” puppy I had no idea what to feed her. She was all of maybe 7weeks old. I knew from my other dog to stay away from Blue (way too high in protein). I thought about wet food, but dislike having to feed that so I thought I’d just try her on what I had my 2yr old on. I gave her Wild Calling. According to the label it’s good from puppies to older adults. I started her on elk, whitefish mixed with a little warm water and she took to it right away. No problem with stools. She is now 7mo old still on Wild Calling (I rotate thru the different tastes). She’s a small one about 9-10 lbs now and I have always given her 1/3cup w/warm water twice a day. If you go on their website I think you can still get free coupon for buy 1 get 1 free.
BTW with chicken broth make sure you dilute it half/half even the low sodium one.

I fought for over 18 mo on my doodles sensitive stomach. The vet kept saying to change food etc. I tried almost every food known to man. Ellie was thrown up almost daily with yellow bile and she was a very picky eater. Finally I told the vet I wanted a Pancreatitis test. The test was done and guess what??? She had a very bad case of Pancreatitis. Ellie is now on ID kibble 7% fat and I add in ground turkey breast and low salt chicken broth. I give her chicken jerky (home made without anything added) for a treat and give her kibble for treats. If they haven’t ruled out Pancreatitis please ask your vet why? Good luck.

All of the above are very good suggestions so I’ll add another. My doodle has a very sensitive stomach along with being a picky eater. I thought I tried everything! I went to the pet store and the owner put me on a kibble called “Wild Calling” not to be confused with the other. In about 2 days my dogs poo was like little tootsie rolls (no more “ugh I hate to clean up soft stool days”) I started her on the Elk,whitefish and she actually likes it. I then went to just whitefish (not so good) then to Turkey (loved it) beef (loved it) duck, salmon lamb (so so).
Here’s what I’m trying to say. Wild Calling is a “rotational” kibble with out any ill affects. Right now thru the end of the year if you buy one 4# bag you can have another free. If your dog doesn’t improve, bring it back to the store for a full refund. I’ll quit touting WC now but I went thru a 18mo before I found what was right for Ellie and now new puppy Molly.
