Hi weezerweeks. I’m no expert on coconut oil, I can only tell you what I do. Our dogs are similar in size. I give each of the girls 1/8 of a teaspoon 3 times a week. Hannah (Maltese) weighs around 7.3 lbs. right now, Katie (Maltipoo) a little bit over 6 lbs. and Lola (Yorkipoo) a little over 5 lbs. In my opinion, which is all it is, is that you’re giving your yorkies too high a dose too often. I definitely wouldn’t stop giving it, it’s a great ingredient for many reasons, I’d just encourage you to give less and less often.
