The editor indicated that you should not buy a dog food that does not say “complete and balanced” on the packaging. I noticed that Wellness Core did not have this lingo but is rated as a 5 star.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

Taken from the WellnessCORE website: “100% Complete and Balanced Nutrition for Your Adult Dog”
“Wellness CORE Original Formula Adult Dog Food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance.”

If the food is not complete and balanced the AAFCO statement would read: “Wellness CORE Original Formula Adult Dog Food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles intended for supplemental feeding only

Thank you… I didn’t see it “printed” on the bag so I thought I would ask.

Some foods DO have it printed right on the front of the bag, but more often than not you will need to refer to the AAFCO statement to find out if it is complete and balanced. Usually too you can tell if you see vitamins and minerals included in the ingredient panel.
