Hi Debbie... Obviously, the radiation we've all been reading about is troubling (both for our dogs as well as our own human food supply). Something this technical will have to be entrusted to our government. We'll just need to stay abreast of the news as events unfold.

Oh I have to say to the Akita Mom. we also love the shredded pork. There is a lot of liquid in it and im just now also trying other flavors but I have 1 dog who is very picky on what he will eat and he LOVES this shredded pork. He has a chicken allergy, 2 of my dogs do so im very happy to have replaced the Evo Venison with the pork.

Im really happy to meet all of you here who really care what you feed your dog(s). During the recall I was beside myself, but it also woke me up and I learned a lot! If there is any complaints with what I an feeding now, feel free to tell me, I want to know everything. Fromms canned (4star) and Orejin dry, the Salmon and the red meat flavors. I buy a lot : ) This is why I never have any money to go out and splurge on something lol!!! Actually I love my dogs very much and I will do what ever is best for them.

Hi, I am new here. My name is Debbie and I have 4 larger dogs aged 5,5,8, and 15. I just switched from Evo venison and red meat bites dry to Fromms canned and Orijen dry. I have been using Evo but I heard they sold the company to a popular but questionable company (when it comes to dog food) and I do not want to buy from them anymore.

My question is a bit off topic but we have to question this. With the horrific happenings going on in Japan, how can we be sure that radiated foods are not being put in our dogs food? Im very nervous about this. Has anyone else thought of it?

We love the shredded pork! Actually, it's the ONLY canned, single-protein, pork out there that I have found. I have been told that this is so because pork is more expensive to use for pet food than beef or chicken (there isn't any part of a pig that isn't used for people food), so the cost of using pork would have to be passed down to the consumer. I can see it in the price per can, in this case, about $3.30 per can. I can justify our buying it because we do rotate between other proteins and between canned and kibble. Fromm's pork kibble is great too, and more cost effective.
