My understanding of the rationale for Blue Organics being discontinued is that there wasn't a good market for the product at the time.

From my experience as a BB Product Demonstrator, Blue Organics products (cat and dog kibble) sold very well in my stores. Maybe because I am Pro-Organic!

Around the time Blue Organics was discontinued, Castor & Pollux Organix was introduced into PetSmart stores. Castor & Pollux also has Natural Ultramix, which is their non-organic product line.

Many customers questioned the difference between a certified organic dog food and a regular dog food - most often asking questions like, What is wrong with the non-organic dog food? What is the source of ingredients for the 'regular' food? Is the non-organic chicken from dirty factory farms where the chickens are given antibiotics and pesticide laden feed? How can kibble be certified organic if the chicken meal and chicken fat are not organic? In the organic formulas, why aren't the chicken meal and chicken fat organic?
